
Suzanne Pleshette (January 31, 1937 until January 19 January 19, 2008) was an American film, theatre television, voice actress. Pleshette began her acting career in the theatre and appeared in films during the late 1950s. Then, she became prominent in film roles like Rome Adventure (1962), Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (633) and Spirited Away (11). She later appeared in various television productions, often in guest roles. She was Emily Hartley on The Bob Newhart Show from 1972 to 1978. She received a number of Emmy Award nominations for her work. Pleshette was the daughter of Geraldine (nee Kaplan), and Eugene Pleshette. She was born in Brooklyn Heights, New York City on the 31st of January 1937. Her parents were Jewish who were descendants of immigrants from Russia and Austria-Hungary.Her mother was an artist and dancer who performed on stage under the name Geraldine Rivers. Her father was a stage manager at both the Paramount Theater as well as the Paramount Theater in Manhattan.
